The owners of those companies, while often still present in the business (at least some of the time) are never a "spoke in the wheel" that's necessary to keep it rolling.
Their role is normally keeping an eye on the bank account(s) and making sure everyone is doing what they are supposed to be doing by looking at data driven reports provided by the handful of managers they communicate with on a scheduled basis.
